Reading September 10

This reading to me talked about the "distinction between langue and parole, between the synchronic system of a given language and anything anyone might actually say or write in that language"(Saussure 3). These distinction between these signs ties in different ideas about what they are trying to portray in the sign. "Signs can only arise on inter-individual territory"(Saussure 4). What i though of was why different restaurants in my area have the names, and how they tie into the culture, and theme of such restaurant. I always found it interesting on the names behind restaurants, and how many different ones use names such as a color and a animal.  Barthes talks about how when people are reading different types of text, it is important to keep the reader interested by using examples and proving oneself. if is important to understand every word of what you read. In the book Zola "the book will drop from your hands read fast it snatches, inaccessible to your pleasure"(Barthes 109). To me i think that he is talking about how with text you can read it different ways, and it is always there to interoperate and understand differently. By looking at it at different ways and different mindsets, the outcome of the text will change.

"The pleasure of the text is that moment when my body pursues its own ideas-for my body does not have the same ideas as i do"(Barthes 111)
