Writerly Text, Readerly Text

I am encouraged to see that many of you posted on Monday, following my in-class request to find a computer and explore the prompt in your post! It may be helpful to redress the prompt by recalling something from CMC 100: Open text, closed text. >Writerly text: a text that encourages our participation. Some examples: a good novel, a movie, literature. Literally, we re-write as we read or watch.  (Our Post-Structuralists say we fill in gaps in very different ways each time we read texts. As critical thinkers, we need to be mindful of these gaps.) >Readerly: e.g., a grocery list, directions to assemble something, etc. A good way to think about it: The Constitution. Is it open or closed?
